Primary Therapist
Kendra Marcus, LMSW is a Licensed Master Social Worker in the state of Georgia, currently pursuing her clinical licensure (LCSW). She earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Kennesaw State University, with a minor in African & African Diaspora Studies, and her Master of Social Work from Georgia State University.
Originally from New York and raised in a Panamanian-American family, Kendra brings a culturally responsive and socially aware perspective to her work, recognizing the importance of identity, community, and lived experience in the therapeutic process.
Kendra currently serves as a Primary Therapist at the PHP/IOP level of care, supporting individuals navigating mental health and substance use disorders, while also providing outpatient therapy to adolescents.
She brings over five years of experience in residential eating disorder treatment, including several years as a therapist, working with both adolescents and adults. Her clinical background reflects a strong foundation in treating complex presentations and supporting clients across levels of care with attention to continuity, structure, and individualized needs.
Kendra is dedicated to creating a trauma-informed, affirming, and collaborative therapeutic environment where clients feel safe to explore patterns within their lived experiences. She has a particular passion for understanding how trauma shapes identity, emotional functioning, and relational dynamics, and works with clients to build insight, develop coping strategies, and reframe limiting narratives.
Her integrative approach includes Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, and Self-Compassion practices. She is especially passionate about serving underrepresented communities and empowering clients to heal, grow, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.
