Primary Therapist

Julian Wood, MFT is a primary therapist at Valor Behavioral Health.

Julian received his Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Valdosta State University. At Valor Behavioral Health, he  sees his role as someone who helps clients make sense of their lives and choices.

His therapeutic approaches include systemic and postmodern techniques such as narrative, Bowenian, contextual, and collaborative therapy to address issues like depression, anxiety, substance use, and relational difficulties.

In individual therapy, Julian is able to unpack the story of your life experiences and understand your perspective so we can collaborate to address current issues.

In couples’ therapy, he helps explore the “relationship story” and work together as a team.

Julian is passionate about what he does and strives to encourage, validate, and equip clients with the tools to create a safe space. We didn’t choose to be born into this world, but that doesn’t mean we deserve to suffer. So, ask yourself, “Why not you?”

Julian believes everyone is the author of their own story. Whether you suffer from depressive or anxiety symptoms, struggle with dating or making new relationships, or find it difficult to move on from unpleasant past experiences, he wants every client he works with to feel empowered and know they have a say in their narrative.
