Ever feel like things aren’t going your way or you can’t catch a break? Ever question yourself or ask, “Am I the problem?” If you have, don’t think you’re alone. Life is a book with many chapters that we write every day, but we don’t always realize it. I believe everyone is the author of their own story. Whether you suffer from depressive or anxiety symptoms, struggle with dating or making new relationships, or find it difficult to move on from unpleasant past experiences, I want every client I work with to feel empowered and know they have a say in their narrative.
Hello, I am Julian Wood. I received my Master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Valdosta State University. I see my role as someone who helps clients make sense of their lives and choices. My therapeutic approaches include systemic and postmodern techniques such as narrative, Bowenian, contextual, and collaborative therapy to address issues like depression, anxiety, substance use, and relational difficulties.
In individual therapy, I aim to unpack the story of your life experiences and understand your perspective so we can collaborate to address current issues. In couples’ therapy, we’ll explore the “relationship story” and work together as a team. Your individual and relational narratives offer clues to current challenges, allowing us to use the past to make sense of the present and tackle the future together.
I am passionate about what I do and strive to encourage, validate, and equip you with the tools to create a safe space. We didn’t choose to be born into this world, but that doesn’t mean we deserve to suffer. So, ask yourself, “Why not you?”
